GETTING STARTED!
A step-by-step guide to getting started here at ATB. This is mostly intended for those who are new to the forum roleplay community, and need a little help figuring out what to do. But it's also a great way to double check yourself when applying, even if you are an experienced veteran!

S T E P 1 :
Be sure you have read the RULES and understand the PLOT.
S T E P 2 :
If you have not already, you should register your account now, and be sure to register with your character name.
If you already registered and did not do this, then that's an easy fix! Go your profile -> Edit Profile -> Personal -> and change your "Display Name" to your character name. Et voila!
S T E P 3 :
So now you've got a character in mind. Before you go on a hunt for a PB (or play by), jog on over to FACE CLAIMS to check who is already taken. Have someone in mind who has yet to be claimed? Be sure to reserve him/her!
S T E P 4 :
Now you're ready for the application process! You'll want to fill out our profile TEMPLATE according to your chosen character. Check out the profiles found in APPROVED PROFILES to get an idea of what we're looking for. If you need help in any way, or even just want someone to bounce ideas off of, don't ever hesitate to pop into the OOC chat box found at the bottom of our forums.
Note: You can post an incomplete profile in order to work on it on the board, rather than in a word processor, but be sure to mark it as a WIP (work in progress). Once it's finished, you'll just need to bump your topic with a reply stating that it is complete.
Now you wait for a review from our staff. Keep an open mind to what they have to say - they may just ask you to change some things. Please be patient! Once you are passed, staff will mark your profile as "approved" and move the topic to the proper location. Congratulations! You're in!
S T E P 5 :
So now that you're accepted... What do you do? You roleplay of course! Chat up other members on the c-box and see if anyone would be interested in threading with you, OR you can post a THREAD REQUEST to garner some interest from fellow players. (Note: Sometimes, you will have better luck with responding to /other/ players' thread requests. Put out an effort to plot and interact with your fellow RPers, and I guarantee you will have a much more positive roleplaying experience.)
